Welcome! | Croeso! | Dynnargh! | Degemer mat! | Fáilte! | Fàilte! | Failt!

This website is linked to our @CelticWord twitter account. One of our interests is in studying the lost Celtic (specifically Brythonic) language known as Cumbric. It is believed to have been spoken until as late as the 12th century by a group of Celts who lived in the Old North (now Northern England and Lowland Scotland).

Here are some of our mentions and appearances: BBC Cymru Fyw and BBC Radio Cymru!

Our goal is to update the site daily with various content relating to Cumbric. This includes historical information about the Old North as well as Cumbric words, surnames and place names backed by scholarly sources. More updates are in the works to make Cumbric.Org more interactive! Please feel free to get in touch with us via the Contact page.

Many thanks for visiting!
